Arroyo Grande Library will be featuring the abstract art work of Steve Andrews from January 28 to March 25. Steve Andrews’ passion for art came from sharing the creative experience with his mother, Maxine
Andrews, using all forms of media - Oil Paintings, Water Colors, Pencil,
Charcoal, Pastels, and Sculptures. The artist's work is based in observation, using bold shapes, vibrant colors, taken to
the extreme.
Join us at the Cambria Library for Abstract Paintings by Judy Schuster. Schuster writes that “In painting abstracts I enjoy using bright colors and textures. I like using my fingers to blend colors (finger-painting!). I like using palette knives, chop sticks, plastic knives and forks to create thick areas of color drawn through with marks and lines. This textural approach is probably from my work in fiber arts. What I most enjoy about painting this way is its directness,
The book of the year, All My Rage by Sabaa Tahir, shows how writing can be used for stress relief. South County libraries will provide journals with prompts designed by Transitions Mental Health to help with stress and anxiety. Available while supplies last.
April is Stress Awareness Month. Informative and helpful information will be displayed in the lobby. A de-stress table
will be set up and “Calm Kits” will be available while supplies last.

In Celebration of Women's History month, the Cambria library will be hosting a watch party for the film "Girl Rising". This watch party will include a screening of the film as well as a fact sheet about girls' education, and mor information on how you can help girls around the world achieve education.
